Here are some extra events which you could make part of your trip:

Torch-lit visit of the Citadel - March: Hot wine welcome drink at the ancient “Terra Nova” barracks. Torch-lit visit of the fortified domain. Sampling of a local produce after the visit with a local brotherhood.

Folknam - April the day of Namur folklore and traditions In the streets and squares of the town centre: presentation of folklore groups, gastronomic brotherhoods and crafts. Street entertainment.

Country Festival of Jambes ( outskirts of Namur) - May An American country festival including line dancing and an exhibition of American cars. Refreshments available on the same theme. Activities start at 11 am.

Namur in May - The festival of travelling arts. The streets of Namur become a great fairground with over 300 artists, acrobats, tightrope walkers, clowns and carousels.

“Les Musicales” July - Music festival hosting concerts of classical music from the Middle Ages , the Renaissance and the Baroque periods. Performed in Saint-Loup church, Royal Theatre,..

52nd International folk dance & music festival - July - Jambes (otherside of river) - 250 people showing their typical dance traditions from all over the world.

“Foire de Namur” July, 65 circus professions, from traditional to modern, will animate the Place des Cadets and the Quartier des Casernes (Barracks quarter). 4pm to midnight on week days and from 2pm to 2am on weekends.

Annual bric-a-brac sale in Temploux (20 miles from Namur) - August - With more than 1,500 stalls along four miles of streets, this event attracts some 200.000 visitors annually.

Valériane - September - Trade fair of biological products organised by “Nature and Progress” at the Namur Exhibition Hall. 10am to 7pm daily.

Fêtes de Wallonie (Walloon Festival) – September - 4 days of street celebrations (150 concerts) when Namur's streets come to life with 250 000 people. Roam the pedestrian streets in the late evenings and soak in the festive ambience of the street terraces.
