Spa Ferrari Days — April: The largest concentration of Ferrari cars in Europe which can be seen racing on the Spa-Francorchamps race track.
International Jazz Festival of Liege - May : One of the two major jazz festivals of Wallonia (the other being Gouvy), the event takes place in the Congress Hall of Liege.
Liege-Rome-Liege vintage car rally — May: Classic car rally which departs from the Prince-Bishop's Palace and arrives in Venice on the the last week the month.
The “Village Gaulois” — first two weeks of July: An event at which you will be able to experience the spirit of the Liegois (the people of Liege). There are some 35 stalls (in the form of log cabins), in which regional produce and craft from France and Wallonia can be purchased. The locals come out of their offices, schools and shops to take their lunch break or after-work drink amidst friends and visitors. A jovial mood prevails along the terraces of Place Saint-Paul in the shade of the Cathedral of this popular square.
July 14 th , the last day of the market, sees big celebrations for Bastille Day (although yes, you are in Belgium) including fireworks outside the Congress Hall. In fact, the celebrations are almost certainly bigger than on the Belgian National Day a few days later on the 21 st !
Folklore festivities of August 15 th in “Outremeuse”: This year sees the celebrations of the 75 th Anniversary of this festival. There's a flea market, regional folk dances, street processions with floats and street music. The festival is in the heart of old Liege.
The “Village Wallon” — mid September (dates to be confirmed): If you missed the “Village Gaulois” in July, you can catch up with the “Village Wallon” on the Place du Marché. Here the “Perron” that symbolises the liberties of Liege stands proudly in front of the town hall. There are stalls selling local craft and fare. Here again the joyful spirit of the Liégeois is in strong presence. The “Foire d'Octobre”: Starting on in the first week of October this fun fair of over 150 attractions scattered all along the main boulevard and in the Parc d'Avroy, animates the city till November 11 th . It is one of the highlights in the life of the city.
The Chritmas Village — 30 November to 30 December (dates to be confirmed): Liege is celebrating once again! With its more than 100 stalls this is not only the longest lasting Christmas Villages but also one of the largest. It takes place on the Place du Marché and on the adjoining Place Saint- Lambert. A skating rink surrounded by stalls selling food, is also set up on the Place Cathédrale.
