Aquarium Liege
The word ‘aquarium’ doesn’t do justice to this impressive attraction in Wallonia’s largest city, which combines a vast collection of marine life (2,500 creatures taken from the world’s oceans, seas, lakes and rivers, swimming in 46 different tanks) with a museum dedicated to the wonders and diversity of the animal kingdom, from the humble flea to the mighty whale, with just about everything in between.
The aquarium’s star turns include scary piranha fish and Moray eels, and a fine show of sharks and dogfish. If you want to learn as you look, there are regular guided tours in English.
