Exhibition:
Andy Warhol and Co…w
28 Jan 2011-25 Sept 2011

The exhibition presents Andy Warhol, a true witness of his time. His artistic production brought about a profound change in the world of art, since it replaced single work with multiplied and interchangeable copies. It very consciously transformed art into merchandise and gave widespread distribution to images borrowed from the media of his time. With contemporaries, such as Lichtenstein, Oldenburg, Rauschenberg and Johns, he was part of the Pop Art movement, which still has undeniable presence in our current everyday lives.

An enlightened and eclectic artist, he was already a legend during his lifetime. Stavelot Abbey presents original works and private collections from Belgian and Foreign institutions.
