CHRISTMAS MARKETS 2012-2013 Brussels & the southern Belgian region of Wallonia

BRUSSELS CHRISTMAS MARKET: From Friday 23rd November 2012 until Wednesday 1st January 2013.

Exhibitors from all over Europe will set up their wooden chalets in the Grand Place, Place St Catherine, around the Bourse (Stock exchange) in the Place du Marché aux poissons – selling all manner of gastronomic specialities, handicrafts and other unusual stocking-fillers.

CHRISTMAS CONSTELLATIONS, CRIB & CITY LIGHTS (23 Nov 2012– 1st Jan 2013) the stunning baroque facades of the guild houses and Town Hall will be beautifully illuminated and dressed in festive garlands. There’ll also be a huge Christmas tree, as well as a classic interpretation of the nativity scene.

OUTDOOR ICE RINK (23 Nov 2012 – 1 Jan 2013) The ice rink at the Place du Marché aux poissons and the other attractions will remain open until the 1th January 2013.
THE BIG WHEEL AND THE BAR will open from 23 Nov until 1st January 2013.
THE SOUND AND LIGHT SHOW will take place in the Grand-Place.

The opening times for the Brussels Christmas Market are:
Monday to Thursday: 12 am – 9 pm
Friday to Sunday: 11 am – 10 pm
24th & 31st December: 11 am – 6 pm
25th December & 1st January: 12 am – 9 pm

The Winter Wonders has not confirmed the guest of honour yet. (TBC)

Wooden chalets with various produce such as gastronomic specialities, handicrafts and souvenirs.

OUTDOOR ICE RINK (30 Nov – 30 Dec 2012) Place de la Cathédrale Mon-Thu 11.00-19.00, Fri 10.00-20.00, Sat & Sun 10.00-20.00 Set up in the heart of Liège's huge pedestrianised zone, the ice rink will be surrounded by lots more shopping, eating and drinking opportunities.
